Pickeringtons Amenities Abound for Active Adult Rental Community

Pickerington Ohio is Home to the New Redbud Commons Active Adult Community

Pickerington has a lot to offer its active adult residents. The phenomenal growth that this community experienced in the 1990s and 2000s reflects the popularity of this former farming village for residents of Central Ohio. Pickerington has grown with leaps and bounds over the past three decades, and boasts two high schools, two junior highs, three middle schools, seven elementary schools, a preschool and a community school. The school district is the 15th largest in the state of Ohio, and more than 10,000 students move through the district each year.

In a word, Pickerington means family. Many of the first wave of families that moved to Pickerington for its excellent schools and quieter way of life have seen the school days come and go. And now some of these older empty nester residents are seeking a new type of residential living—luxury apartments that can accommodate older adults who still want to live in, and be active in their communities.

There are several retirement communities in Pickerington that accommodate older individuals and couples who require some assistance with daily living. But not until now has there been an active adult community for Baby Boomers who wish to downsize because they have an empty nest and want less maintenance responsibility. Treplus Communities designs 55+ apartment homes that are designed to accommodate 55+ active adults and empty nesters

Treplus Communities is completing Redbud Commons senior apartments this fall at 602 Redbud Road near the intersection of Diley Road and State Route 256 (Hill Road North).

Redbud Commons has 95 single-story 55+ apartments with open floor plans and Universal Design features (barrier-free living). The luxury apartment homes are designed to look and feel more like condos for rent than regular apartments, and they have attached garages and a luxurious feel.  Redbud Commons will have a large community garden that will be developed with assistance from the expert gardeners at the Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens

Redbud Commons luxury apartments will be similar in design to Treplus Communities’ Dublin community, Hawthorne Commons, with some individual touches that make it purely Pickerington. Burr Oak Commons, Treplus’ third senior apartment community in Delaware, Ohio is currently in planning to be the third of this unique 55+ rental housing concept.

In addition to its on-site community garden, the 26-acre Redbud Commons site has ample green space, and access to area multi-use trails and Georges Creek.  Redbud Commons is convenient to shopping, parks and recreation and Olde Pickerington Village

A new skilled care retirement community and state of the art rehabilitation facility owned and operated by Trilogy Health Services of Louisville, Kentucky is being developed adjacent to the Redbud Commons senior apartments site.
