Active Adults Celebrate Earth Day Program

Seeds of Caring Earth Day

An opportunity to create a kinder, more connected community led by our youngest generation was presented to residents of a Treplus Community in Pickerington, Ohio in preparation for Earth Day on Friday, April 22, 2022. Seeds of Caring representatives spoke to residents of Redbud Commons and they are excited to apply their sewing skills and make 25 reusable snack bags each for a great cause. Seeds of Caring will host a large Earth Day program where approximately 300 kids will come together to learn about how they can care for our environment. Kids will serve as Planet Protectors at the Ohio History Center.

Seeds of Caring is an organization that organizes service and volunteer experiences for kids. They help kids see and understand the needs in their community, then develop the social-emotional skills and confidence to make a difference. All programming is intentionally designed with age-appropriate education, meaningful service activities, and time for empathetic reflection.

About Seeds of Caring

Seeds of Caring believes in the power of kindness and the capacity for kids to change the world. We engage children ages 2-12—our future leaders—through a variety of service, social action, and community-building experiences. From racism to homelessness, we don’t shy away from the tough stuff. Instilling kindness and empathy from the earliest age, we help kids see and understand the needs in their community, then develop the social-emotional skills and confidence to make a difference.

Much more than a volunteer network, all programming is intentionally designed with age-appropriate education, meaningful service projects, and time for empathetic reflection. Our various in-person and anywhere service projects, as well as our student group Kindness Corps, enable families, schools, and other groups to nurture a commitment to kindness, build bridges across our community, and find ways to take action. Seeds of Caring empowers kids to create a kinder community with their hearts, hands, and minds. The organization is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Learn more!

About Earth Day 2022

Earth Day is a wonderful opportunity to show our youngest generation the importance of caring for our environment. Sponsored by Amazon Web Services and supported by AEP Ohio and Grange Insurance, we invite you to join us for our Kids as Planet Protectors: An Earth Day Celebration and together we can teach our youth how to be kind to the physical world we all share—and create a greener future for us all.

In partnership with Ohio History Connection, multiple projects to help kids connect with natural history, take action to protect our environment, and invest in our planet’s future will occur. Activities are geared toward kids ages 4-12 and will include educational scavenger hunts, litter clean-up, reduce and reuse activities, seed balls, gardening, and more! Families are also invited to explore the Ohio History Center for FREE during the event. Plan now to join the fun!
