On Friday, December 15th, active adults are encouraged to trade in daily sweaters for something more festive on National Ugly Sweater Day!  Wear an ugly sweater and tour any one of Treplus Communities' portfolio of active adult communities between 9 am and 5 pm on this day and receive a $25 gift card*! Where Did the "Ugly Sweater" Originate?

The birthplace of the original ugly holiday sweater party was in Vancouver.  The city now abounds with "fugly" knitwear parties, including the Commodore's famous annual sell-out event.

The ugly sweater first became a household meme in the 1980s with The Cosby Show's, Bill Huxtable leading the way. Chevy Chase's character in National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation added to the holiday fun.
In essence, the ugly sweaters are a unique and fun tradition that creates laughter, nostalgia, and a sense of festive fun to the holiday season.
